Colorado SB167 amends state law to allow carriers of individual or group health benefit plans to credit out-of-pocket expenses for prescription drugs. Starting January 1, 2028, carriers must credit these expenses when calculating a covered person's contribution to an out-of-pocket maximum or cost-sharing requirement. The credit applies to expenses incurred by directly purchasing a prescription drug from a pharmacy, healthcare provider, or direct-to-consumer platform.
