Failed·5/11/26
Load Text

Colorado SB102 establishes requirements for large-load data centers, including renewable energy usage, community engagement, and infrastructure cost.

Colorado SB102 mandates that large-load data centers, defined as new or expanded data centers with a peak load exceeding 30 megawatts, must generate or purchase 100% of their electricity from renewable resources starting January 1, 2031. Operators must also achieve a specified hourly matching percentage, determined by the Colorado Public Utilities Commission. The bill requires developers or operators to conduct a cumulative impacts analysis before development or expansion in disproportionately impacted communities and enter into a community benefit agreement.
