Colorado HB1412 authorizes the Department of Health Care Policy & Financing to use statistical sampling and extrapolation to recover overpayments from Medicaid providers for nonemergency medical transportation and pediatric behavioral therapy services. The bill allows the department to determine and recover overpayments using statistically valid samples and recognized federal standards. If an audit identifies a statistically significant pattern of alleged overpayments, the auditor can use the same methods to audit services provided from January 1, 2024, through December 31, 2025.
