The chair is required to report on the commission's plans and activities, including research, development, and demonstration; building and appliance efficiency standards; electricity and natural gas demand forecasts; siting of thermal power plants; implementation of the California Renewables Portfolio Standard Program; and transportation fuels and alternative.
