SB929 amends Section 25217.5 of the Public Resources Code to mandate that the chair of the State Energy Resources Conservation and Development Commission must appear annually before the appropriate policy committees of the Legislature. The chair is required to report on the commission's plans and activities, including research, development, and demonstration; building and appliance efficiency standards; electricity and natural gas demand forecasts; siting of thermal power plants; implementation of the California Renewables Portfolio Standard Program; and transportation fuels and alternative.
