Allows certain outdoor advertising displays in redevelopment agency project areas to remain until 2029.
California SB783 amends the Business and Professions Code to allow outdoor advertising displays within former redevelopment agency project boundaries to remain until January 1, 2029. These displays must have been in use as of December 31, 2022, and constructed by January 1, 2012. The city, county, or city and county authorizing the display is responsible for ensuring it meets the requirements and provides a public benefit. Failure to remove advertising copy after a federal notice results in a $10,000 per day fine by the California Department of Transportation.
