SB395 adds up to 20 new on-sale general licenses for bona fide public eating places in San Francisco's designated hospitality zone. The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control can issue up to 10 licenses in the first year after the zone is designated and up to five licenses each subsequent year. The zone must contain at least 1,000,000 square feet of retail shopping space and be designated by the local governing body. Licenses cannot be transferred or sold for more than their original fee. The department cannot issue any licenses after July 1, 2033.
