California SB331, known as the Let California Kids Hear Act, mandates that large group health care service plans and health insurance policies issued, amended, or renewed on or after January 1, 2028, include coverage for hearing aids and related services for enrollees under 21 years of age if medically necessary. This coverage includes necessary assessments, new hearing aids at least once every three years, and new earmolds, fittings, adjustments, and maintenance. The coverage is not subject to a deductible, and coinsurance is capped at 10 percent.
