Establishes the Elderly Parole Program for inmates aged 50 and older who have served at least 20 years.

The Elderly Parole Program, known as Mary Bella’s Law, is established to review the parole suitability of inmates aged 50 and older who have served a minimum of 20 years of continuous incarceration. The Board of Parole Hearings will administer this program, giving special consideration to age, time served, and physical condition. The program does not apply to certain violent offenses or cases where the victim was a peace officer. The board must complete all elderly parole hearings by December 31, 2022.
