If a person files an original statement or report after the deadline, they are liable for a penalty of ten dollars ($10) per day until the statement or report is filed, up to a maximum amount. For a statement of economic interest, the maximum penalty is one hundred dollars ($100). For other statements or reports, the maximum penalty is the aggregate amount of contributions, expenditures, and other amounts reported, or one hundred dollars ($100), whichever is greater.
