Allows eligible out-of-state physicians to practice medicine in California via telehealth.
California SB1002 amends the Business and Professions Code to allow eligible out-of-state physicians and surgeons to practice medicine in California if their practice is limited to delivering health care via telehealth. An eligible out-of-state physician is one licensed in another state with no history of prior discipline and whose expertise matches the patient's illness. The patient must have an immediately life-threatening disease or condition, or be in remission and continuing care with the out-of-state physician.
