Hazardous materials management: Rural CUPA Reimbursement Account.
Assembly Bill No. 993 amends the Health and Safety Code to expand eligibility for funding from the Rural CUPA Reimbursement Account for counties implementing a unified hazardous waste and hazardous materials management program. The bill makes every county with a population of less than 150,000 eligible for funding, regardless of certification date or program implementation. It also adjusts the funding allocation percentages based on county population and sets a cap of $100,000 per county, adjusted annually for inflation.
