California AB821 amends the Education Code to modify high school graduation requirements. It allows career technical education courses to count towards the visual or performing arts requirement. Starting from the 2025–26 school year, local educational agencies must offer at least a one-semester course in ethnic studies. Starting from the 2029–30 school year, a one-semester course in ethnic studies is required for graduation.
