California AB723 requires real estate brokers to disclose digitally altered images in promotional materials and provide access to unaltered images.
California AB723 mandates that real estate brokers and salespersons disclose when images used in advertisements or promotional materials for real property sales have been digitally altered. The disclosure must be conspicuous and include a link to the unaltered image. If the promotional material is posted on a website controlled by the broker or salesperson, the unaltered image must also be included. Digitally altered images are defined as those altered to add, remove, or change elements of the property, excluding common photo editing adjustments.
