The California-Mexico Border Relations Council is established in state government to coordinate activities of state agencies related to cross-border programs, initiatives, projects, and partnerships. The council consists of eight voting members, including the Director of the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development and the Secretary of the Natural Resources Agency. The Secretary for Environmental Protection chairs the council. The Speaker of the Assembly and the President pro Tempore may each appoint a nonvoting member who represents a district that shares a border with Mexico.
