California Environmental Quality Act: exemption: housing development projects.
AB 609 would exempt certain housing development projects from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). CEQA requires a lead agency to prepare an environmental impact report on a project that may have a significant effect on the environment. AB 609 would exempt from CEQA a housing development project that meets certain conditions, including that the project site is not more than 20 acres and is located within the boundaries of an incorporated municipality or within an urban area.
