California AB6 directs the Department of Housing and Community Development to convene a working group to research and recommend amendments to state building standards for residential developments of 3 to 10 units. The group will consider including chapters from the International Residential Code that were not adopted in the 2025 edition of the California Residential Code. The Department must report its findings to the Legislature by December 31, 2027.
