Establishes the Office of the California Public Records Act Ombudsperson to review denials of public records requests.

The bill creates the Office of the California Public Records Act Ombudsperson to review denials of public records requests by state agencies. The ombudsperson will investigate requests for review, determine if the denials complied with the California Public Records Act, and issue written opinions. The ombudsperson must maintain privacy and confidentiality of records and provide annual reports to the Legislature. The office will be funded through appropriations and will cease operations on January 1, 2029.
