California AB345 proposes conditional approval for new apprenticeship programs if certain criteria are met.
California AB345 adds Section 3075.2 to the Labor Code, establishing a conditional approval process for new apprenticeship programs. If the Committee on Apprenticeships does not finalize a completed application within six months, conditional approval is granted if the program is approved by the U.S. Department of Labor, has employer commitments, and an educational partner. Programs in building and construction trades and firefighter programs are excluded.
