California AB2794 amends the Education Code to exempt students who reside in California and are eligible for federal GI Bill benefits from paying nonresident tuition at California Community Colleges and California State University. This exemption applies to veterans under the Montgomery GI Bill–Active Duty, Veterans Readiness and Employment, Post-9/11 GI Bill, Dependents’ Educational Assistance, and Montgomery GI Bill–Selected Reserve programs. Students must maintain continuous enrollment to qualify for the exemption.
