AB2719 modifies California Vehicle Code to allow vehicles to be registered as co-owned in the alternative or conjunctive.
AB2719 amends the California Vehicle Code to allow vehicles to be registered in the names of two or more persons as co-owners. Vehicles can be registered in the alternative using the word "or," which grants each co-owner the absolute power to transfer the title or interest of the other co-owners during their lifetimes. Vehicles can also be registered in the conjunctive using the word "and," requiring the signature of each co-owner to transfer title, except in joint tenancy where only one signature is needed during the lifetime of the co-owners.
