California AB266 modifies Section 2562.5 of the Streets and Highways Code to permit regional or local entities to enter into exclusive sponsorship agreements. These agreements allow for the display of a sponsor’s name and logo on participating tow trucks, provided it does not overlap with or reduce the visibility of the identifying logo. The Department of the California Highway Patrol and participating entities must consider developing operational requirements for such sponsorship agreements each time the guidelines for program operations are updated after January 1, 2026.
