AB2331

Cemeteries: removal of remains.

Final Passage·6/25/26

California AB2331 allows for the removal of human remains from cemeteries without consent if court permission is obtained.

California AB2331 amends Section 7526 of the Health and Safety Code to allow the removal of human remains from cemeteries when consent cannot be obtained. Instead, permission from the superior court of the county where the cemetery is located is sufficient. A court shall grant an application upon a showing of good cause.
