The bill establishes a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing Pilot Program for up to 10 California community college districts. The Chancellor's Office will select districts based on criteria such as location in underserved nursing areas, communities with persistent poverty, and national accreditation status. Participating districts must offer priority enrollment to students with an associate degree in nursing. The Legislative Analyst’s Office will evaluate the program's effectiveness and submit findings to the Legislature by July 1, 2034. The pilot program will end on January 1, 2036.
