California AB2195 amends the Family Code to prevent the suspension of noncommercial driver’s licenses for individuals found to be out of compliance with child support orders if their annual income is at or below 70 percent of the median income for a household of one person. The Department of Child Support Services must implement this change without regulatory action. The provision becomes effective on January 1, 2027, or when the California Child Support Enforcement System can automate the necessary changes, whichever is later.
