California AB1906 requires individual and group health insurance policies, excluding specialized, vision-only, dental-only, and Medicare supplement plans, to cover cervical cancer screening tests ordered by a provider and FDA-approved home test kits starting January 1, 2027. This coverage includes the conventional Pap test and human papillomavirus screening tests. The bill also mandates coverage for the human papillomavirus vaccine for enrollees for whom the vaccine is approved by the FDA, effective January 1, 2024. No cost-sharing requirements apply to these benefits.
