AB1834

Subdivisions: tentative and final map: exceptions.

Complete·6/30/26

California AB1834 modifies exceptions for requiring tentative and final maps in certain subdivisions.

California AB1834 amends Section 66426 of the Government Code to change exceptions for requiring tentative and final maps in subdivisions. It specifies that such maps are not required if the land before division contains less than five acres, each parcel abuts a maintained public street or highway, and no dedications or improvements are needed. Additionally, it exempts parcels of 20 acres or more with approved access to a public street or highway. The bill also excludes industrial, commercial, or mixed-use developments with approved access to a public street or highway.
