California AB17 requires county registrars of voters to provide digital precinct maps free of charge.
California AB17 amends the Elections Code by adding Section 12263, which mandates that the registrar of voters in each county must provide a digital map, free of charge, showing the boundaries of each precinct within the county. This map must be made available upon request by any member of the public. If the Commission on State Mandates determines that this act incurs costs mandated by the state, reimbursement to local agencies and school districts for those costs will be made according to Part 7 (commencing with Section 17500) of Division 4 of Title 2 of the Government Code.
