Western Joshua Tree Conservation Act: removal and trimming permits.

The Western Joshua Tree Conservation Act amends the Fish and Game Code to allow the California Department of Fish and Wildlife to issue permits for the removal or trimming of dead or live western Joshua trees. Permits can be issued if the trees pose a threat to public safety, are near structures, or are leaning against structures. Counties and cities can enter into agreements with the department to issue permits, subject to department oversight. The department retains authority to suspend or revoke agreements if necessary.
