AB1583 expands jurisdiction for wage theft and labor trafficking cases to multiple counties.

AB1583 amends the Penal Code to expand the jurisdiction for criminal actions related to wage theft and labor trafficking. Jurisdiction now includes the county where the victim resided at the time of the offense, the county where the victim was present when the employment contract was entered into, the county where any portion of the work was performed, and the county where the business or any of its locations was situated at the time of the offense.
