California AB1578 requires state and local agency officials to receive training on responding to hate and anti-hate speech. State agency officials must undergo training every two years, with new nonsupervisory employees trained within six months of hire and new supervisory employees within six months of assuming a supervisory position. Local agency officials must also receive at least two hours of training within six months of taking office or commencing employment, and every two years thereafter.
