Establishes the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development in California and creates the California Competes Grant Program.

The bill establishes the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development, also known as GO-Biz, within the Governor’s office. The office will be under the direct control of a director appointed by the Governor. The director will be responsible for all duties, powers, responsibilities, and purposes of the office, including contracting for professional or consultant services. The office will be repealed on January 1, 2030.
