AB1358 amends the Public Resources Code to expand the Santa Ana River Conservancy Program's authority. The conservancy can now acquire interests in real property, enter into contracts, and apply for grants. It must notify local jurisdictions 30 days in advance of property acquisitions unless otherwise agreed. The conservancy can also undertake projects in heavily urbanized areas benefiting disadvantaged communities. The conservancy is authorized to lease, rent, sell, exchange, or transfer interests in real property and collect fees for land use or services.
