California AB1214 revises election result posting and canvassing procedures for elections officials.
California AB1214 modifies the Elections Code to update the procedures for posting election results and conducting the official canvass. Elections officials must post updated election results at least twice a week until a certified statement of results is published or only vote-by-mail ballots remain uncounted. The posting must include updated results, the number of processed and outstanding ballots, and the expected date for the next update. The canvassing process must begin by the Thursday following an election and continue daily for at least six hours until completed.
