California AB1210 amends Section 3451 of the Penal Code to mandate postrelease community supervision for certain felony offenders. This supervision is provided by the county probation department and lasts for up to three years following release from prison. The Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation must notify the county probation department of the release date and relevant information at least 90 days prior to the discharge date. This bill excludes certain serious and violent felonies from its provisions.
