California AB1349 regulates ticket sales to prevent misleading advertising and speculative sales.

California AB1349 amends the Business and Professions Code to regulate ticket sales and prevent misleading advertising. It prohibits sellers from falsely claiming tickets are from authorized sources, falsely stating events are sold out, or misrepresenting the seller's identity. It also bans speculative ticket sales and the use of technology to circumvent ticket limits. Ticket resale marketplaces must prevent speculative sales and implement measures to stop them. Violations can result in civil liability for double the ticket price plus nonrefundable expenses.
