Chamber Passed·3/2/26

SB1825 amends Arizona law to establish criteria for filling vacancies in the office of precinct committeeman.

SB1825 amends section 16-821 of the Arizona Revised Statutes to clarify the process for filling vacancies in the office of precinct committeeman. The board of supervisors, on the recommendation of the county chairman or a designated committee, determines when a vacancy exists. The vacancy must be filled within five days from the submission of a list of names by the appropriate party chairman. Only precinct committeemen elected before the state or county committee organizing meeting can vote at the meeting.
