Arizona SB1771 amends health insurance requirements, mandating that insurers cover essential health care benefits and prohibiting certain practices. Insurers must offer dependent coverage until the end of the calendar year in which the adult child attains twenty-six years of age. They may not decline coverage, deny enrollment, or impose preexisting condition exclusions or limitations. Additionally, insurers cannot cancel or refuse to renew plans based solely on health status, use health status to establish premiums, or impose annual or lifetime dollar limits on essential health care benefits.
