Introduced·2/5/26
Introduced Text

Arizona SB1729 prohibits pet ownership limits in planned communities based on breed, size, or weight.

Arizona SB1729 amends title 33, chapter 16, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 33-1816.01. This section prohibits associations from limiting pet ownership in planned communities based on breed, size, or weight, regardless of existing community documents. Any such provisions are deemed unenforceable. However, associations may still adopt reasonable rules regarding pet behavior that comply with federal, state, and local laws.
