Arizona SB1672 amends the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System to regulate coverage of prescription antipsychotic drugs for adults with serious mental illness. The bill prohibits the administration from imposing prior authorization requirements or other processes that condition, delay, or deny the delivery of prescription antipsychotic drugs, except for a step therapy protocol. The administration may require members to show a failure to successfully respond to not more than two distinct prescription antipsychotic drugs.
