SB1610

Groundwater; transporting requirements; technical correction

Introduced·6/12/26
Introduced Text

Arizona SB1610 amends groundwater transport requirements, ensuring certain water users meet capacity and delivery criteria.

Arizona SB1610 amends section 45-557 of the Arizona Revised Statutes to clarify groundwater transport requirements. It specifies that groundwater withdrawn from a basin or sub-basin and transported to an initial active management area cannot be considered for assured water supply if used by entities without a Central Arizona Project water delivery subcontract. Additionally, it mandates that such entities must demonstrate capacity to accept 95% of their Central Arizona Project water entitlement and have accepted delivery of groundwater.
