Arizona SB1543 allows courts to designate certain non-dangerous felony convictions as misdemeanors under specific conditions.

Arizona SB1543 amends Title 13, chapter 6, of the Arizona Revised Statutes by adding section 13-604.01. This section allows courts to enter a judgment of conviction for a class 1 misdemeanor instead of a felony for certain non-dangerous offenses. This applies if the person has no prior felony convictions, the offense did not involve a victim, all court-imposed terms and conditions have been completed, and at least five years have passed since the conviction without any subsequent misdemeanor convictions.
