SB1541 allows the Department of Public Safety to use budget stabilization funds for a 10% salary increase for its employees if the state general fund.

SB1541 permits the Department of Public Safety to allocate funds from the budget stabilization fund for a 10% salary increase for its employees when the state general fund does not have a surplus. This provision applies to any fiscal year meeting this condition. The bill also allows the Department of Corrections to use the same fund for a 10% salary increase for its employees and sworn officers. The salary increase provisions are set to be repealed after June 30, 2029.
