SB1176 allows for stormwater storage in underground facilities and grants replenishment credits.
SB1176 amends Arizona statutes to allow for the storage of stormwater in constructed underground facilities and the granting of replenishment credits. Storers can recharge stormwater within these facilities and receive credits. These credits can be used to offset replenishment obligations for groundwater within two miles of the storage facility or for groundwater served by a water provider with a service area partially within two miles of the facility. The director maintains records of earned and transferred credits and debits credits from the holder's account when used.
