Arizona SB1082 mandates handwashing and supervision at petting zoos and animal encounter exhibits.

Arizona SB1082 requires operators of petting zoos and animal encounter exhibits to ensure handwashing or sanitizing for all visitors upon exiting the animal contact area. Operators must also maintain at least one responsible adult supervisor in the animal contact area at all times. The bill mandates signage at all entrances and exits stating the handwashing requirement. Exemptions apply to petting zoos contracted for a single day at a private residence for a private event.
