SB1067

County abatement liens; notice; priority

Complete·5/29/26

SB1067 amends Arizona statutes to modify the process for county abatement liens, including notice requirements and priority of liens.

SB1067 amends sections 11-268, 42-18115, and 42-18204 of the Arizona Revised Statutes to revise the procedures for county abatement liens. It mandates that the board of supervisors, by ordinance, compel the owner, lessee, or occupant of buildings, grounds, or lots to remove rubbish, trash, weeds, filth, debris, or dilapidated buildings that pose a hazard to public health and safety. The ordinance must include reasonable written notice to the property owner, occupant, or lessee. If the property owner fails to comply, the county can remove the debris at the owner's expense.
