Introduced Text

Arizona HCR2062 proposes to amend the state constitution to allow same-sex marriage.

Arizona HCR2062 proposes to repeal the current constitutional provision that restricts marriage to opposite-sex couples and add a new provision allowing marriage between two individuals regardless of sex. If approved by voters and the governor, the Secretary of State would present this amendment at the next general election. This change would ensure that same-sex couples have the same rights to marry as opposite-sex couples.
