Arizona HCR2009 proposes an amendment to the Arizona Constitution to limit property tax increases for senior citizens. The amendment would establish a method for determining the value of new property and define "total income" as the owners' federal adjusted gross income. The Secretary of State would submit this proposition to voters at the next general election. If approved, it would amend Article IX, Section 18 of the Arizona Constitution to set limits on property tax increases.
