Alec and Lydia Act: Behavioral health crisis; temporary orders

The Alec and Lydia Act amends Arizona law to establish a uniform process for immediate temporary orders and expedited hearings following an involuntary inpatient behavioral health admission. It requires courts to order lethality and psychosis risk assessments for parents undergoing voluntary or involuntary commitment. Courts must consider these assessments and other evidence before granting or expanding unsupervised parenting time. The Act also mandates training for court-appointed professionals on domestic violence, child abuse, and behavioral health crisis.
