Introduced·2/4/26
Introduced Text

HB2956 allows commercial lessees of state trust lands to apply for a public auction to purchase their leased parcels.

HB2956 provides a process for commercial lessees of state trust lands to apply for a public auction to purchase their leased parcels, excluding those leased for solar or wind energy. The state land commissioner must appraise, advertise, and sell the parcel to the highest bidder within ninety days of receiving the application. The lessee can withdraw the application, and if they do not, the auction proceeds. This provision is repealed after December 31, 2027.
