Introduced·6/13/26
Introduced Text

Arizona HB2816 amends the high occupancy vehicle lane regulations to prioritize certain vehicles when lanes degrade.

Arizona HB2816 modifies the state's high occupancy vehicle lane regulations. If a high occupancy vehicle lane becomes degraded, it restricts use to specific vehicles in a priority order. The priority is: passenger vehicles with two or more occupants, public transit buses, buses with two or more occupants, motorcycles, alternative fuel vehicles, and low emission vehicles. The Arizona Department of Transportation must develop procedures to monitor the impact of single occupancy vehicles on high occupancy vehicle lanes.
